THE NBA Owner have done it.....and maybe a STEP in the Right Direction to getting everything solved or at least a BULK of it. Nate SILVER of the NY TIMES did an ANALYSIS of the NBA'S Financial Situation and the NBA released a STATEMENT regarding that ANALYSIS.

A few Excerpts from the NY TIMES and Nate SILVER NBA Financial LOSSES Article........

"The NBA and its TEAMS shared their complete league and team audited FINANCIALS as well as our STATE and Federal TAX Returns with the NBA PLAYERS UNION. Those Financials demonstrate the substantial and undisputible losses the LEAGUE has incurred over the past several years".

"The LEAGUE LOST MONEY every year of the just EXPIRING CBA. During these years, the league has never had a POSITIVE NET INCOME or OPERATING INCOME".

1. Ticket Revenues have increased to 12% instead of the reported 22%

2. In the 2009-10 Season, 23 TEAMS had NET INCOME LOSSES. The LOSSES were in no way "SMALL"...as 11 of those 23 lost more than $20 Million each on a NET INCOME BASIS. The NET LOSS for that year, including gains from the seven profitable teams was a staggering -$340 MILLION.......WOW.

From those numbers something going to to have to give. If teams keep operating in the NEGATIVE.....after a while there will be a complete FALLOUT where the NBA will start losing TEAMS......NOT GOOD NEWS.

Not saying the OWNERS need to WIN the BATTLE.....but things need to be MONETARILY SPEAKING for better words.......in a place where the LEAGUE can GROW FINANCIALLY....and maybe some of the 7 Profitable teams, who are probably in BIG MARKETS, need to get some good old REVENUE SHARING going as I have mentioned before.

I also think the OWNERS need to manage their assets a little better in return.

YANKEES Shortstop Derek JETER came of the Disabled LIST tonight and racked up 2 more hits to give 2,996 for his Brilliant Career. DJ is now only 4 away from this historic mark.

The All- World Baseball MANUAL BASEBALL PROSPECTUS uses a system called PECOTA which evaluates numerous elements in players like AGE, SIZE, STATS, and POSITION.

PECOTA predicted JETER would hit .312 with an On BASE % of .380 and a .454 Slugging % and JETER has fell short of all those STATS with a .280 and a .341 OBP, and .394 Slugging %.

But getting to 3K HITS and doing it all in PINSTRIPES is a BIG DEAL. JETER will get to 3,000 Hits but will almost never join 3 Ballplayers to ever get to 4,000 Hits including Pete ROSE.

With 3,000 Hits DJ will be tied for 27th with the LATE GREAT Roberto CLEMENTE. Between 27th at 3,000 hits an 3,514 Hits set by Tris SPEAKER a former Indians and RED SOX PLAYER who is at #5......JETER will probably land somewhere in the Top 15 All-Time.

Look at the TOP 4 all-time hit leaders:

1. Pete ROSE 4,256
2. Ty COBB 4,189
3. Hank AARON 3,771
4. Stan MUSIAL 3,630

All in COOPERSTOWN of Course.....and JETER not far behind those gentleman in getting the NOD to NEW YORK STATE as well.
