We are about two weeks from the start of the 2010-2011 NBA Season with much anticipation. The new-look HEAT, Kobe coming off knee surgery, and WHO IS THE BEST POINT GUARD IN THE ASSOCIATION? This is a topic in that's covered in bars, schools, colleges, barbershops, etc.. But who is the best POINT GOD? The BLUEDUDE will cover what he sees in what makes the make-up of the BEST POINT and give you his TOP 8 PG's in the NBA.

From the FAME WIKIPEDIA a" "POINT GUARD" is defined as a playmaker or Ball-Handler. It's probably the most specialized position on the basketball court and expected to run the team's offenses and make sure the right player gets the ball at the right time. At best, the point guard most totally understand and accept the coach's game plan. Somewhat like a QB in football ".

Having said that here is the BLUEDUDE's list of the Top 8 COACH'S ON THE FLOOR IN THE NBA:

1. CHRIS PAUL aka CP3 New Orleans Hornets: Although he has had some injuries of late there is no mistaking the talent level of the best pure POINT in the Association. A Top 10 HS player out of West Forsyth HS near Winston Salem, NC and a star in the ACC at WAKE FOREST, CP3 is a flat out beast on the floor. He can get his shot or most importantly get to any point on the floor when he wants to and gets his teammates involved regularly. Cat-quick and reminds me of Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons. Defensively there is no PG in the league that anticipates and covers passing lanes like CP3. "Double R" Rajon Rondo of the C's mirrors CP3 on D as he can cover with the best of them as well. CP3 has the #1 spot for know but there are some ballers in his rear view mirror and the back seat of his jeep REAL TALK.

2. DERON WILLIAMS aka DWILL Utah Jazz: Not built out of your most physically-gifted points in the league. But he might be the best in the association of Transition Offense leading the break. Out of The COLONY HS in The COLONY TEAXAS by way of ILLINOIS, DWILL is an absolute monster on the break and a master at the TWO-MAN screen and roll or screen and pop. You wouldn't think after STOCK and the MAILMAN that the JAZZ would have another Point to run the screen and roll and BIG somewhat comparable to them. DWILL and Carlos Boozer aka CBOOZ5, now of the Chi-City BULLS, were that pair. Also an excellent FG and FT shooter who will never play out of his strengths which are insurmountable being a point in the NBA.

3. STEVE NASH aka NASTY aka MR. DRUMMOND Phoenix Suns: I know he has slowed down a bit and really never played defense. But The best Passer in the NBA and the best Left hand I might have ever seen warrants the #3 position on my list. The 2-time NBA MVP still his a beast in the half-court set and will always 99.9% like a TROJAN MAN make the right decision. One of the All-time career leaders in FT% and creeping up on the list in assists as well. But with no more STAT running with him he will adjust and still be as efficient as any point in the league because he always has.

4. DERRICK ROSE aka POOH aka DROSE Chicago Bulls: Probably the fastest end to end PG and maybe the most explosive getting to the RIM PG I have ever seen. A more explosive young BARON " BDIDDY" DAVIS minus the LB built of BARON. The pride of the Chicago South-side neighborhood INGLEWOOD and SIMEON HS, who produced such talents as the late great BENJI WILSON, NICK ANDERSON, BRYANT NOTREE, BOBBY SIMMONS, and the coach behind most of these guys the late BOB HAMBRIC. Note current SOPH F/C JABARI PARKER is next trust the BLUEDUDE on that one. Look him up and you tell me. Still working on his Shooting and range, DROSE has a killer mid-range and tear-drop shot that is somewhat unorthodox but works. By 2012 he will be the best PG in the league and the 2012 SUMMER OLYMPICS starter.

5. RAJON RONDO aka DOUBLE R Boston Celtics: When scouts talk about such things as body parts on guys such as hands, feet, and so on and so forth, WINGSPAN is always the top topic or one of the topics. RAJON fits the mold of incredible length and couple that with his defensive prowess, an excellent WINDEX man for his position, an amazing leadership qualities for a guy playing with so many NBA Stars, he might be the best defensive PG in the league on just purely creating havoc all over. An ever evolving offensive player and a very good transition offensive player, DOUBLE R lays his hat on his defense first. The Louisville, KY native, former OAK HILL ACADEMY and UK standout, RAJON will be on that 2012 OLYMPIC TEAM and be a top 3 PG by then as well. He is like AMERICAN EXPRESS the C's or GREEN TEAM , can't leave home without him.

6. TONY PARKER aka THE FRENCHMAN San Antonio Spurs: A few years ago he was right there in the conversation of being one of the elite PG's in the NBA. A few injuries and a couple of early exits in the NBA Playoffs the last couple of years have dropped him a few pots. But still rather young and a vital and most important part of the SPURS with TD. A very fast PG out of the mold of Scoring first and pass second. Speaking of Championships, Mr. PARKER seems to play his best when the lights are on the brightest. Very good finisher and FT shooter.

7. CHAUNCEY BILLUPS aka MR. BIG SHOT Denver Nuggets: Man it still seems like Mr. Big Shot and the PISTONS won that championship about 2-3 years ago. Known for his knack of taking and making big shots, he is an excellent example of guys who understand you have to play in gears in the league. The NBA season is a marathon not a sprint and no one PG understands that most than the smooth BILLUPS. An excellent 3pt shooter and FT shooter, can and will draw contact on just about anybody. The ultimate team first guy who plays with a lot of me first guys for real. Denver Colorado George Washington HS product by way of CU Boulder. Arguably the best HS basketball Player out of the city of DENVER. TOP 5 NBA PICK originally by the C's and then head coach Rick Pitino. Unbelievably has played with the C's, Raptors, and Magic before making his name with GM Joe Dumars and the PISTONS.

8. RUSSELL WESTBROOK aka JET ZERO Oklahoma City Thunder: Thanks OKC Thunder Nation for that one. Was not a top player coming out of LA HS FAME WESTCHESTER HS. Was the last option for the BRUINS as they were waiting on another prospect to sign than eventually getting Rus in the fold. An absolute JET in the open floor and will FLUSH on anyone as though he is jumping off a trampoline. Still learning the game with a very high IQ and an ability to just get to wherever he wants to get on just about anyone. Will join DROSE and DOUBLE R on the 2012 SUMMER OLYMPIC TEAM trust me on that one. And will be one of the top 4-5 PG's in the Association for years to come soon. He and Kevin Durant aka The DURANTULA aka BABY ICE aka PLASTIC MAN 2K10 will be the cornerstone for the THUNDER for the next 12 or so years.

NOTE: JASON KIDD aka JKIDD Dallas Mavericks would have been on my list but has slowed down a bit but is a surefire first ballot to SPRINFIELD MASS. A triple-double waiting to happen everytime he steps onto the floor.

Others to watch:

JAMEER NELSON OMAGIC
DEVIN HARRIS NETS
JOSE CALDERON RAPTORS
AARON BROOKS ROCKETS
STEPHEN CURRY WARRIORS
DARREN COLLISON PACERS
RAYMOND FELTON KNICKERBOCKERS
BRANDON JENNINGS BUCKS
JOHNNY FLYNN TWOLVES

THE BLUEDUDE WILL BE COVERING SHOOTING GUARDS next led by who else THE BLACK MAMBA

Shiiiii, I can't even front right now son, I'm putting Drose ahead of Steve Nash. He is starting to understand when his team NEEDS to get buckets from him, based on the flow of the game. I think he started out trying to be too much of a scorer but now he is settling down a lil and the improved range on the jumper looks good. Now, once Boozer comes back and is able to command defensive post respect, DRose will start wettin more treys based of the open looks. In fact, once Boozer returns all of his #s will improve, which is saying alot if you take a look at where he stands right now! 1luv
