The Redlegs and the Twins have nothing to be ashamed of by getting swept in the MLB Divisional Series this past week. The Yankees and Phillies I think are on course for a rematch that all of baseball would love to see at least the networks.

Lets take a closer look at what the Redlegs and Twins can build on for the 2011 campaign:

REDLEGS: Look what a memorable season for the boys on the Ohio River. No one expected Dusty and the Boys to be here especially after jumping out to an early lead in NL Central that the Redbirds could not overcome. The REDS are built on a solid foundation through their Farm System which bodes well especially for player contracts. Homegrown guys in small markets are more willing to take a discount than a free agent.

The REDS will build will or are building around these guys: 2B Brandon Phillips, 1B Joey Votto, Pand Pitchers Arroyo, Cueto, and Volquez. The Future looks bright in Cincy and these REDS are not built on a 1 year run trust me. Confidence from upstairs is evident in the contract extension of Skipper Dusty Baker.

So for the 2011 Campaign with a system and players in place, THE RED LEGS will be the team to beat on the NL Central again.

TWINS: If only the twins had the other cornerstone of the Franchise in 1B Justin Morneau they probably would have been more of a threat. Injured for most of the year, and to Skip Ron Gardenhire who is one of the best in the business, the TWINS still managed to play Gardenhire Baseball and runaway from AL Central Rival Chicago White Sox.

The TWINKIES have a lot to look forward to and with their new digs, TARGET BALLPARK, they will have a little more revenue to keep some of their key homegrown guys.

Lets look at the TWINKIES and what they will be working with for the 2011 season:

TWINS: First one of the best in the game , C JOE MAUER, who is a hitting machine and one of the best backstops in years. Then you have 1B/DH and former AL MVP Justin Morneau. An Ace on any pitching staff in Francisco Liriano, and promising young Outfielders in Denard Span and Delmon Young.

With this type of talent and some of the best brains in baseball up top in the Twins Front Office, they will be the preseason favorites again in the AL Central. NOW THEY JUST HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THEM BOYS FROM GOTHAM CITY.
