Looking at the Stats for the Most Part the Steelers, Cardinals, Buccaneers, and Jets are the only ones who didn't make the Playoffs and the Bears didn't make the Playoffs but had a 10-Win Season.
In Totals Yards Allowed the Broncos, Seahawks, and 49ers will all be Factors because those Numbers they carry into the Post Season will show up in the Playoffs.
In Rushing Yards Allowed the Bucs get a Big Year from former Top Pick and 1st time Pro Bowler DT Gerald McCoy of Boomer Sooner. The Steelers Scheme and DE Brett Kiesel and NT Casey Hampton along with an improved DE Ziggy Hood held the Run Game in Check for the Steelers. The New Orange Crush with OLBs Dumervil and Miller had the Broncos Run D on the Ups every week. The Niners with that front of the Smith Boys and Backers Bowman and Willis...enough said. The 'Skins are a surprising 5th but DE Kerrigan and Tackling Machine Fletcher had that Unit believing all Season.
In Passing Defense the Steelers do it with Scheme and a Helluva Year by the Most Underrated Safety in the NFL...Ryan Clark. The Young Corners were improving as was Vet Island "I Like Ike" was having a Solid Year. The Jets, Broncos, Niners, and Cards have Elite Safeties or Corners or a Mixture and they did their Jobs in 2K12.
The Top Five in Points Allowed comes from that Stingy Defense in the Red Zone...the Old Cliche "Bend but don't Break" comes into play. And for Playoff Teams on this List this is Huge not giving up 7's but 3's.
As a Whole the Top Three Defenses in the NFL Playoffs...The Broncos, 49ers, and Seahawks and don't expect the Unexpected in the Playoffs from the Defenses as they know who they are and they also know looking at Opponents Offenses what you do.
Coach Tomlin and the Steelers "Bring back Coach LeBeau" (And I know its Coach LeBeau's Decision) as that D doesn't need any Fixin' we just need to plug in some more Youth.
