RONALD EDWARD SANTO passesd away this past week due to a long fight with DIABETES. One of the greatest 3rd baseman to ever man the position on the NORTH SIDE and teamed up with CUBS Shortstop Don KESSINGER to become one of the NATIONAL LEague's Premier left side infield duo's.

Ron, who was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic at the age of 18 was only suppose to live about 25 years longer after being diagnosed. Imagine being a type 1 diabetic and medicine wasn't advanced as it is nowadays and RON still managing this disease is a tribute to the kind of gentleman #10 was. The RON SANTO WALK FOR CURE OF DIABTETES has raised over $60 million since founded in 1974.

AFTRE baseball SANTO has worked since 1990 the CUBS RADIO Braodcast on WGN Radio with his partner PAT HUGHES known as the PAT AND RON SHOW. He also has breifly worked with the Chicago Bears and GREEN BAY PAckers with Wayne LARRIVEE the PACK'S Radio man.

Many think of him as one day a baseball Hall Of Famer and many argue the one thing that sticks out is his hitting stats home vs road. Ron hit way better at the Freindly Confines than he did anywhere else. But there has been a few HOF'S that have hit significantly better at home than on the road and they got into COOPERSTOWN. I, THE BLUEDUDE THINKS HE WILL GET IN SOON he was a really good player on the NORTHSIDE and kept the CUBS relevant for those years not to mention the year 1969 that all CUBS FANS don't want to remember.

AND NO MATTER WHAT CUBS FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD KNOW THAT #10 IS IN THEIR HALL OF FAME NO MATTER IF HE IS IN COOPERSTOWN NY OR NOT.

R.I.P. RONNY you have touched not only the CUBS FANS all over the world but BASEBALL People all over
