The Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando FLORIDA are under way and there has been some surprising deals to say the least during the First couple of days.

The WINTER MEETINGS is a place where Baseball EXECS take the time to try to improve their teams with talks face to face with other Teams EXECS, PLAYERS' Agents, Players themselves, and/or OWNERS getting involved in the fray as well.

Here are a few DEALS and or potential names that are of some importance for MLB Teams ti make a run at the title for next season:

Phillies Free-Agent Outfielder JASON WERTH shocked everyone and probably himself when the WASHINGTON NATIONALS signed the OF to a 7 year......AND GET THIS.......wasn't like he was going to be a cornerstone for the PHIL'S but a nice piece to the puzzle....$126 MILLION deal........this is why the NAT'S will continue to be average in my opinion.....who OK'D that one....WERTH is a nice player ...and in this hard economic times he is maybe worth 5 years $60 Million in my estimation......DAMN.....MERRY CHRISTMAS to the WERTH'S.......REALLY

#2 in PINSTRIPES inked a 3 year deal worth a reported $51 million to stay with yanks and a PLAYER option for a fourth year......LIKE DJ was going anywhere......YANKS needed him....and he needed the YANKS......HECK...MLB needs him to stay in BRONX ZOO

FREE AGENT OUTFIELDER CARL CRAWFORD might be the hottest free agent out there on the market considering what he brings to the table. A FIVE TOOL GUY that can run, hit for avg/power, field, and throw with the best of them. Look for the MAJOR PLAYERS to go after him like the DODGERS, if they can ever get through the McCOURTS' nasty Divorce Settlement (Owner of the DODGERS he and his wife and they each are fighting for the Rights to the BOYS in BLUE), BOMBERS, CARMINES, AMAZINS', and maybe the RANGERS, HALOS, and the BRAVES. Wherever Mr. Crawford goes he will be an immediate impact and I know he has to be looking in the big markets to cash in off the field as well.

OF/1B Lance BERKMAN who spent last year with the ASTROS and the YANKESS agreed to a one-year deal around $8 million with the REDBIRDS which makes the CARDS move OF MATT HOLLIDAY from left to right to accommodate BERKMAN which reportedly he says is cool. You know the CARDS never set back on their hands and will always be at the top of the LEAGUE with Mr. PUJOLS and a very heady front office.

A reported deal sending PADRES SLUGGER ADRIAN GONZALEZ to the CARMINES is on hold because GONZO and the SOX couldn't agree to a contract extension. RED SOX are said to wheeling and dealing to get that deal done. And when or if it gets done...LOOKOUT Below as the BOSOX will be right in the thick of things with a middle of the lineup that consisits of GONZO, DREW, YOUKILIS, VIC MARINEZ, and BIG PAPI ORTIZ........HOLY CLAM HOWDER...the RED SOX are coming...the RED SOX are coming.
