If there ever was a PERFECT BASEBALL Player ON and OFF the field LARKIN was the GUY. He exemplified what it is to be a PROFESSIONAL 360 DEGREES. I just wonder as great a PLAYER and PERSON he was why in RIVERFRONT STADIUM was he a 1st Ballot to COOPERSTOWN. Look at these astonishing numbers during his 19 Year Career that spanned from 1986-2004:

A MAIZE and BLUE Alum who retired his WOLVERINES Jersey in 2010....LARKIN was just fabulous in COLLEGE as well. Another almost MAIZE and BLUE ALUM...Derek JETER...imagine that 2 of the BEST MLB PLAYERS at their position ALL-TIME almost played for UM ANN ARBOR Baseball Team. JETER chose to turn PROFESSIONAL.

In LARKIN's 1st Year of ELIGIBLITY he garnered ONLY 51% of the VOTES, in the 2nd Year 62% of the VOTES, and this year over 86% of the VOTES that put him in. So Roberto ALOMAR is 1st BALLOT and LARKIN is not.....those BASEBALL WRITERS are in a league all to themselves...REAL TALK.

Hats off to BARRY LARKIN and FAMILY well -deserved and overdue to say the least and 2 years too late.

BARRY will be inducted reportedly on JULY 22nd with the LATE CUBS 3rd Baseman Ronald SANTO who got in through the Golden Era Committee.....CONGRATS to SANTO and FAMILY as CUBS Nation has to be ecstatic about that announcement.
