One would think why some NFL QB's get into any trouble when they have a five-star RB behind them. Run right, run left, run middle, and then pass to keep the box from loading up. Sounds simple huh! Well there is a lot more than just talent like these factors: Offensive line, Scheme, Who is on the outside that's a threat, tight ends, and last but not least who is the Signal caller. With those factors you still need a back that's explosive, creative, good vision, good feet, balanced, and a pretty good reciever out of the backfield. That brings me to the BLUEDUDE's TOP 10 NFL RUNNING BACKS that posess most of those qualities.

AND THE TOP 10 ARE (well TOP 2) then other the 8:

1. ADRIAN "all day" PETERSON VIKES: LOOK I KNOW CJ28 is a fabulous back in the country music belt, but if you can give me a guy who can run you over like EARL CAMPBELL, has vision like ERIC DICKERSON, and when he gets to the 2nd level its probably paydirt, it would be a picture of this DUDE in the book. Brett Favre is awesome but dont think twicw who NFL defenses gear up for every sunday. Call Coach Stoops in Norman he will tell you all about him.

2. CHRIS "CJ28 at twitter"JOHNSON TITANS: faster than a speeding bullet. Ask any safety in the NFL who has played against this guy and when he gets an angle your angle better be way in front of his angle. He isn't the biggest NFL back you will see but none is faster than the man from O-town FLA. The funny thing is i am not a scout but the BLUEDUDE'S RADAR ON THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL LANDSCAPE IS PRETTY IN DEPTH. BUt I have to say i missed this burner until the NFL COMBINE POWERED BY........... when that fool ran a 4.28 unofficially. Only PRIIIIMETIME WAS FASTER.

AFTER THOSE TWO WE MOVE THE SHELVES DOWN A NOTCH OR TWO AND CONTINUE......................

3. MAURICE JONES-DREW JAGS: Mr. Prada Brand shoppin himself. No back packs a more pwerful punch at his height and size then this former UCLA standout. I know 2 men should have about 25% of their direct deposit goin to him (Garrard and Coach Del RIo ) because it would have been to a rebuilding stage for real if it wasn't for "POCKET HERCULES" as NFL Network's Lead Anchor Rich Eisen would say. Mo blocks, runs between the tackles, catches out of the backfeild, and is like tackling a bull when he is coming at you.

4.MICHAEL "BURNER" TURNER DIRTY BIRDS: Going out on a lim with this one. But i Told you we were no longer on the top-shelf so bear with me. A bruiser of a running back. legs like a california REDWOOD (I KNOW MY TREES DAWG), and always looking to hit someone forget getting past the yardsticks and bailing out. I heard about this guy long before most of you because the BLUEDUDE resides near Northern Illinois where the BURNER spent for years tearing up the MAC. He is finally getting his due after backing up the 2nd LT in San Diego. I know Matt Ryan feels real confident in 3rd and short with #33 behibd him.

5.FRANK GORE 9ERS: Can you beleive this guy was at the "U" when running back like Clinton Portis and Willis McGahee were on the same depth chart. No wonder the "U" was smashin' folks back then. A very good physical runner between the tackles but needs to work on catching the ball out of the backfield. A security blanket for the very inconsistent QB ALEX SMITH. But you call this guys number in the redzone 10 times he scores 9 really. Can sniff out the endzone like crime dog McGriff.

6. RAY RICE RAVENS: From Piscataway, NJ to the all-pro. Scouts missed on this Barry sanders run-alike. The man is also a killer on screens because like most small backs you can't see him behind the line. Then when you do pick him up he is most of the time 3rd level. He is the heart and soul of the offense like ray ray #52 is on ravens D. He and Mr. Flacco will be fixtures in that backfield for years to come. A surefire threat for 6 in the open.

7. CEDRIC "Midland Lee HS" BENSON BENGALS: When the bears drafted him I thought man this guy will probably be third on the list all-time BEARS RB LIST behind SWEETNESS AND THE KANSAS COMET. Not making ANY excuses for the man, but it is hard to START EVERY GAME SINCE HE WAS 8yrs old and then all of sudden say you are second string. I think that played a role on Ced's psyche. Really. But a no frills guy who just pops it in there and says hit me because I am going to try to hit you. Kinda of one-dimensional not a very good back out of the backfield catching the rock but I like him because when you need a hard 4 yds he will give you a hard 4.5 yds. Since Cincy and coach Lewis gave him a 2nd chance THE REAL SLIM CEDRIC HAS STOOD UP(sorry EM from 8 mile you are the original slim).

8. RASHARD MENDENHAL STEELERS: OK now you think I am reaching ,not really. The steelers drafted a young junior RB at least by age out of Illinois. This being his 2nd full season as the starter should prove golden for the 3rd year guy. The steelers will need it with BIG BEN out at least the first 4 games of the season. #34 is a mix between Eddie George and Bam morris but way more elusive. Big build and huge thighs means hard to get him down by just hitting and not wrapping. A work in progress in the passing game but a gamebreaker in the 2nd level. Needs to quit putting the ball on the turf so coach tomlin and offensive coordinator arians can trust him late in the game.

9. SHON GREENE/RYAN MATHEWS JETS/BOLTS: Greene knows its his job and he will be productive, The loss of 8-time Pro Bowler Alan "Bayou Bengal" Faneca is starting to show up in preseason let alone HBO's HARDKNOCKS LOL. A mix-it-up back inside or outside the tackles. Mathews a rookie, is built like you would want a RB built. a low center of gravity and a thick lower half. And when this dude gets to the second level you better put a hat on him because he is super fast for a thick dude.

10. STEVEN JACKSON RAMS: Them 26" tires still have a little tread. This former Beaver Alum came right after " THE ORIGINAL SHOW ON TURF" and replaced Marshall Marshall Marshall. A Balanced back who does everything above average and a big punisher. He will definately be QB SAM BRADFORD'S BFF for a long time coming. Has lost a little bit but we all do on sunday if you play this position for a long time.

Not a bad list. There are some more names out there but some guys who stay in the training room too much, some guys are in the wrong scheme to showcase what they really do, and some guys are not on the list because they weren't meant to be on this list. But those 2 at the top..................... DONE DEAL AND AS FOR " CJ28" SAYING HE IS GOING FOR 2500 YDS IN 2010-2011 if he puts that number up he will be on that other list THE BLUEDUDE was talkin about sooner than later. And you don't want to be on that list and least the people that depend on you don't want to see you on that list.
