The Redbirds used that Big-Time Starting Pitching to go with some timely hitting as the new "Mr. October" Carlos Beltran wreaked havoc on both the Pirates and Dodgers with big hit after big hit. The Starting Pitching has been for the most part lights out for the Redbirds between Ace Adam Wainright and young Star and 2013 NLCS MVP Michael Wacha.

The Carmines went through two Top 5 Pitchers on the Bump in Motor City Hardball Avengers "Justin of the D" Verlander and "Mad Max beyond Comerica" Scherzer. They also wore out those rare Grand Slam's as they hit two vs the Tigers. Throw in solid Starting Pitching from Ace Jon Lester and John Lackey as they must get Clay Buchholz back on track as he did pitch well enough to keep the Carmines in it to win it.

STL Wainright vs BOS Lester

Wainright was 2-0 (1.31 ERA) vs the Pirates in the NLDS and 0-1 (2.31 ERA) vs the Dodgers in the NLCS. Lester was 1-0 (2.35 ERA) in the ALDS vs the Rays and 1-1 (2.31 ERA) in the ALCS vs Tigers.

Note: Redbirds RBI Leader or 2013 1B Allen Craig is on the Fall Classic Roster and reportedly ready to go and that is not good for the Carmines Pitchers. Craig will reportedly be the Designated-Hitter (DH) in Game 1.
