Just a few days ago it being reported that South Carolina Head Football Coach Steve SPURRIER submitted in informal way to pay SEC Football Players. Most of the Coaches saw it, read it, and even signed it. I think just a dialogue starting for Student-Athletes to get paid is wonderful although a bit late.

Spurrier suggested that each of his 70 Scholarship Players get $300 per week during the season for each home game not away games. Say a Team has 7 Home Games that player would have received $2100 during the Football Season. Not a bad idea coming from the "OLD BALL COACH" in SPURRIER.

The MAJOR COLLEGE Sports in recent years has generated such huge amounts of money that I think the Student-Athlete, who is responsible in large-part to bringing in this money to the University, should get some kind of CASH Reward or STIPEND.........Look the MAJOR COLLEGE SPORTS Coaches get MILLION so why can't the STudent-Athlete get a piece of the Action.

The reason being there are so many loop holes in the SYSTEM that it can't get any worse. You think Reggie BUSH would have acted upon himself to go seek financial assistance if USC had a STIPEND for him?......Look at the The OHIO STATE Football Program now......If those ATHLETES had some sort of STIPEND or Student-Athlete Payment in place.....you think they would have had so many issues with KIDS trying to get MONEY?.....I don't think so.

Then you say well a Student-Athlete Scholarship is enough they are going to school to get an education free.......OK.........then take away all the money that is being generated by these young men and women and have TV, RADIO, Endorsement Deals run free...NO MONEY involved and then the Student-Athlete is generating NO CASH for his or her institutuon.

In a nutshell something has to be done for Student-Athletes to help them get financial assistance...NOT ALL ATHLETES come from a BACKGROUND where MONEY is PLENTIFUL.........HELP these athletes so they can HELP PARENTS and Guardians get to games.......take a GIRLFREIND out for a Bite to Eat........the little things that the NCAA calls MINOR Infractions that eventually turn into Major Infractions.

OH!.....and not a bad idea coming from a GUY who only coaches FOOTBALL........the OLD BALL COACH.......Steve SPURRIER
