The L.A. Dodgers get what looked to be a ever shrinking strike zone on Cubs 2013 All-Star LHP Travis Wood as they took full advantage of it to the tun of a 6-2 win. Dodgers Korean LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu was just over average but against these Cubbies that better than good. Ryu went 5 1/3 innings giving up two runs on eleven hits as the North Siders just couldn't get any one to cross the dish.

Meanwhile his counterpart the Cubbies Wood went 3 1/3 innings giving up five runs on seven hits while issuing five free passes. The Dodger get one in the 1st and crooked two's in the 3rd and 4th to open the game up. Punto, A-Gon, and Puig went multi-hit with Punto knocking in two. The Dodgers are trying to increase their lead in the NL West to five.

A Side Note...Dodger second baseman Mark Ellis was thrown out for arguing strikes as was Dodgers Skip Don Mattingly for coming to his defense.

Both Hector Santiago of the Pale Hose and Doug Fister of the Tigers brought their A-Game to the Bump on Friday as the Tigers just get by the Sox 2-1. Fister gets the win as he goes eight innings allowing one run on seven hits as he struck out just two. Santiago was brilliant for the Sox allowing two runs on on six hits through seven as he also struck out seven Tiger Hitters. Santiago made one mistake in the game in the 5th as Tigers CF Austin Jackson takes him for a Solo Shot.

The Tigers try to stay afloat and ahead of the 2nd place Tribe in the AL Central with Miggy Cabrera currently on the D.L.. Tribe lose to the Fightin' Fish and they fall 3 games back.
