The Tampa Bay Rays are showing the Baltimore Orioles right now who is the Contender to the Throne and the Pretender. The Rays bounce back from last night's "W" and get another one 4-2. This time it was a Combo of the a good Bump + a good Dish = Pennant Fever 2013.
Behind a gutsy effort from Rays RHP Alex Cobb going six strong allowing just two runs on three hits while walking four and striking out five. The O's couldn't get any "Mo" off Cobb tonight. The O's Starter Miguel Gonzalez went 5 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out four. He takes the tough loss as the Rays put crooked numbers up in the 3rd and in the 9th with the game on the line as the O's Pen couldn't shut them down.
That four-run 9th was off of O's Captain Save-A-Game Jim Johnson who has had better times on the Hill. Rays LF Matt Joyce had three ribbie and Wil Myers continues to hit going 3 for 5 with two ribbies. The Rays now put themselves in a position to where it's them and the Carmines for the AL East and no one else as Three is a crowd. The O's fall 4 1/2 games off the pace in thew AL Wild Card trailing the #2 slot the Swingin' Athletics of East Bay.
