Behind a total of Five Homers and three of which were of Bonus Variety (2-Run Shots) the Rangers slide by the Pale Hose on the South Side 11-5. Sox Starter and 2013 All-Star Chris Sale was touched up for eight run in seven innings on eight hits as he gave up four of the five bombs. Rangers Starter Martin Perez had some damage but minimized it as he went seven innings allowing four runs on eight hits as he walked two and struck out three.
The Rangers needed this one as they now stretch out their lead in the AL West to 3 1/2 games on the A's as they lost a wild one in Camden Yards to the O's. Adam Rosales, Mitch Moreland, and Jeff Baker all his the two-run shots as Beltre and Kinsler each went Solo Shots. The Pale Hose get two ribbies apiece from Gordon Beckham and Dayan Viciedo to pace their offense but it wasn't enough.
Now the Rangers try to put some distance between them and the A's as well as trying to get into the Junior Circuit's Best record as that will get you home field advantage throughout the "Fight for October" as the AL won the 2013 Mid Summers Classic.
