Miguel Cabrera is at it again as he leads the MLB and AL World at the Dish with some mind-bottling numbers. Miggy as we go to press comes in 1st with some 130 Ribbies to go with all those other numbers. Who on the Junior Circuit is challenging Miggy in Runs Batted In?
The Top 10 RBI Leaders in the AL as of August 28, 2013...
1. Miggy #Tigers 130 (Protector Prince 90 RBI)
2. Crush Davis #Os 118 (Protector Adam Bombs 95 RBI)
3. Encarnacion #BlueBirds 97 (Protector Jose Bats 73 RBI)
4. Adam Bombs #Os 95
5. Prince #Tigers 90
6. Cano #Yankees 85 (Played with No Protection)
7. Trumbo #Halos 84
8. Trout #Halos 81 (Protector Trumbo 84 RBI)
9. Beltre #Rangers 79 (Protector Cruz 76 RBI/ now Rios)
9. Dunn Pale Hose 79 (No Protection/Rios n Konerko off year)
9. Big Papi Ortiz #Carmines 79 (Protector Napoli 74 RBI)
It isn't rocket science as you see ho it works with some of he best Duos at the Dish in 2013. Pitch around Miggy...Prince hurts you. Pitch around "Crush"...Adam Bombs hurts you and so on and so forth. That Protection in the line up is crucial and if the player behind (Protector) is just as lethal as the one they are pitching to...you will get the Express and more pitches to hit unless they play the numbers game. In case of the Tigers they would rather see Prince than Miggy and that isn't a knock on Prince its just all about the Numbers an what bases are open.
The Halos Stick of Dynamite "TnT" in Trumbo and Trout are the Future for the Halos and they are a menacing bunch as combined they do it all...bombs, hit for average, runs, ribbies, two-baggers, three-baggers, and thefts.
Beltre had Nelson Cruz until he was suspended so the Rangers go get Protector #2 in a good one for the next two season in ex-Pale Hose versatile OF Alex Rios and the rangers have not skipped a beat.
Dunn has had a solid year but Konerko on the end of his career and no real "Protector" in that line up. Rios was hitting the ball like in 2012 as he dropped in the line up.
Big Papi has been doing it for years and the Carmines went out and piked up ex-Ranger Mike Napoli and he is the perfect Bodyguard in the line up for the Carmines. He is coming up the rear with 74 Ribbies as "Big Papi has 79 Ribbies.
