If someone would have told me before tonight's game between the Carmines and Dodgers that Red Sox Pitcher John Lackey would go eight and give up just two runs...I would have said the Carmines beat the Dodgers. Then if you would have told me that Ricky Nolasco of the Dodgers would go eight and give up nothing...all the Poker Chips on this night go to Team Chavez ravine. Well the Nolasco was on his A-Game and the Dodgers hold serve in game one with a 2-0 shut out of the Bo Sox.
The Game had only five hits in it and the hit off the Ash, Maple, or Bamboo of one Dodger Hanley Ramirez reached the center field back drop as the Dodger rode his two-run shot to victory. This is the Hanley the Fightin' Fish gave up on or shall I say being fair that Hanley just needed a change of scenery. Heck I wonder if the Fish are thinking we should have left Hanley at Shortstop and moved Reyes to the Outfield. When he is locked in he is arguably a Top 3 Talents in the Show no questions asked. Even better than fellow countryman and 2013 World Baseball Classic M.V.P. Robbie Cano of the Bombers who is in the Top 10 Talents in the Show.
The Dodgers now lead the West by double-digits as the D-Backs have fallen off big time in both the NL West and NL Wild Card Races. With the loss the carmines fall into a tie with the Tampa Bay Rays as the Rays folded up the Yanks and their Starter Hiroki Kuroda on Friday Night.
