The L.A. Dodgers are on a tear many have never seen and that wasn't the only big story in Philly. The games was a 4-0 shutout win of the "Boys in Blue as Greinke dominated the Phils and Hanley Ramirez fresh off the D.L. hits a 2-run HR and goes 2 for 4. All that Dodger Business is well and good for Dodger Nation but this was the sideshow.

The Philadelphia Phillies with things clearly going in the wrong direction have relieved World Series Winning Skip Charlie Manuel of his duties after tonight's contest. The Interim Manager will be Ryne Sandberg as he will take over until further notice with half of August and all of September on tap.

The Arizona D-Backs could ill-afford to lose while the Dodgers were winning or in the NL Wild Card and they do just that. The Pirates take it to the D-Backs 6-2 as Buccos Rook RHP Garrit Cole gets the "W".  D-Backs RHP Brandon McCarthy gets the "L" as the Redbirds get beat by then Cubs and the Reds lose to the Brewers. Pirates now move up a game on both of those Teams with the D-Backs still sitting 3rd in the NL Wild Card.
