The Boston Red Sox played "Redeem Team" as they have bigger fish to fry as they have the Rays breathing right down their backs. The Sox on Saturday brought the leather and lumber as they take out the Pinstripes and Starter Hiroki Kuroda.

Behind a nice day's work on the hill from former Halos "Steady Eddie" John Lackey and some work at the Dish the Red Sox beat the Yanks 6-1. Lackey went 6 2/3 innings on six hits allowing one run and issuing three walks and striking out one. Kuroda for the Pinstripes was touched up early and often as he went just 5 2/3 innings allowing eleven hits and five runs as he struck out six. It was not his day for the Yanks most consistent pitcher in 2013.

The Bo Sox Line Up up and down did damage as the top (Ellsbury 3/5 w/ 2 RBI Victorino 2/5) set the table for the Sox. "Big Papi" Ortiz went Solo Shot in the late innings as he capped the Red Sox Offense for the day.

As we go to press the Bo Sox are 1 1/2 up on the Rays and percentage points ahead of the Motor City Tigers for the AL's #1 Record. The Yanks are 6 1/2 back in the Wild Card and 8 1/2 back in the East.
