The Steelers are going about their business as usual no Hard Knocks juts a Local and National TV and Reporters here and there. Talking Professor LeBeau's 3-4 Zone Blitz let's take care of the Big Boys upfront in that three or four technique.

The Steelers didn't draft any Bigs up front on that D-Line because they have their guys already. The question now is in years three and sometimes four that light needs to come on and you should know what's expected of you in that complicated yet somewhat simplistic 3-4 Zone Blitz from NFL HOF Dick LeBeau.

Now with Nose Tackle Casey "Humpty Dumpty" Hampton gone its is all up to Steve McClendon and 2013 Free Agent Pick Up Loni Fangupo of 12th Man Space Needle...the Seahawks. The 2012 4th round pick Alameda Ta'amu is on the 2013 PUP List for now so he has no value. McClendon must be able to disrupt at the point if attack and keep those Backers and Blitzes free. In that 3-4 Nose Tackle Slot its more about eating up space for others...sacrificing than actually making the play.

At the defensive tackles "Da Beard" Brett Keisel (pictured right) who is still very productive will lead players like Evander "Ziggy" Hood and Cameron "Lil' Ironhead" Heyward as they must turn the corner for that Steelers D to be amongst the leaders in most categories. The Run Defense is huge for D-Ends in that 3-4 as well as that Pas Rush as you need to be consistent in both. Ex-Steeler Aaron Smith (#91) was the best 3-4 DE the Steelers have had since LeBeau has taken over that Defense. Al Woods provides depth for Ziggy as Heyward adds depth for Keisel on the Depth Chart. Watch out for 2013 7th round Pick Nick Williams of Samford in Birmingham as he tries to climb up the Depth Chart as a rookie.

Steelers 2013 Zone-Blitz 3-4 D-Line Depth Chart as of August 2, 2013

            Starters      2nd Wave     3rd Wave

LDE Ziggy Hood    Al Woods

NT Steve McClendon   Loni Fangupo   Alameda Ta'amu

RDE Da Beard 99    Cam Heyward    Nick Williams

Steelers are a little bit thin up front but that 3-4 D-Line Depth has always bee
n thin as it's not Quantity but Steelers-Type Quality.
