Red Legs Starter Bronson Arroyo had to be thinking these Redbirds have to be ripe for the picking as the Buccos took them for a ride. Bronson was right but what he didn't know he would be the one getting roasted.

The Redbirds came out of the Motel and put a good old-fashion Friday at the Ball Park Smack down on the Red Legs and Franks and Peanuts for everyone. 13-3 the Redbirds scored at will including a crooked four in the 1st frame, another four in the 3rd frame, and just in case you arrived late three more in the 4th frame. Arroyo's TGIF Line...3 2/3 IP 8 H 7 R 1 BB 5 SO...and the man who followed him Curtis Partch should have Partch-ed himself in the Pen or Clubhouse. Partch's Line..1 1/3 IP 3 H 5 R 4 BB and two Bombs. Did he watch what they did to Bronson evidently not. Redbirds Starter Shelby Miller did allow three runs in five innings but left with that huge cushion.

The Redbirds were led by Shortstop Daniel Descalso going 3 for 5 with two HRs and three runs scored. All-Star first baseman Allen Craig went 3 for 3 including a 2-run blast. Red Legs Offense was supplied by first baseman Joey Votto who hit a three-run shot.

Look someone has to get in a straight line and catch the Pirates and the Redbirds could make quick amends for that 'Burgh Collapse earlier in the week. C'mon Red Legs two more to play and you get swept not good as we are in August Hardball as the NL Wild Card starts to get a lot of attention.
