If the Pittsburgh Steelers followed the script for their Sunday Matinee against the Baltimore Ravens everyone gets an "A"from the equipment folks on up. Every phase today for the Steelers was on point and talking "Situational Football" the Steelers again grab an "A" as everything clicked when it mattered.
The Steelers were in control from the jump as those long drives on offense took its toll on that #1 "D" in the NFL. Big Ben Roethlisberger may have played his best game in years in the Big Crab Cake as he was flawless including dodging what looked to be a serious injury late in the 4th.
Ben was 28 for 47 for 270 yards and two in the Ravens end zone. #7 sprinkled that Wilson pigskin around to some seven players including Ju Ju Smith-Schuster who led with 78 yards. RB James Connor caught seven balls as well for 56 yards but was stellar in the ground attack. #30 ran for 107 yards on twenty-four totes and continues his assault on opposing defenses and that bodes well for that Steelers Offense moving forward.
The Steelers "D" held that Ordinary Joe the QB for the Purple Browns to 209 yards on just 23 for 37 with no TDs. That Ravens running attack also was non-existent totaling just 61 yards on just sixteen carries. That Steelers run "D" is come full-circle as DT/DE's Stephon Tuitt and Cameron Heyward are starting to get into a groove as its that new pressure package that Steelers D-Coordinator Keith Butler has went to almost exclusively in Pittsburgh's current 4-game win streak.
The two key plays versus the Ravens...
Big Ben reportedly just getting the wind knocked out of him...
How about maybe the biggest play QB Joshua Dobbs relieving Big Ben deep near the goal line in the Steelers End completing a 2nd and 20 to Smith-Schuster as the Steelers continued that drive with Big Ben coming in right after that for a Steelers FG to put the game away at 23-13. The Ravens added a FG to make it 23-16 and it ended there as I predicted 23-13 Steelers on my post two posts before this one.
Steelers move to 5-2-1 and more importantly 3-1-1 in the AFC North splitting with the Ravens, beating both the Browns and Bengals once with that Browns Tie in game #1 of the 2k18 season.
Baltimore on a three-game skid falling to 4-5 and a costly 1-3 in the AFC North. Ravens get a bye week in NFL Week 10 and they need that and then some. The Steelers will get Cam and the #BackInBlack Carolina Panthers at 6-2 on a short week on Thursday Night Football at Heinz and that will be a real good one!
