In the "Logo" there will be nights like this and hopefully when a night like this unfold you are coming out of the motel and the visiting team. The L.A. Lakers really had two things to lose tonight and they lost both as a player in the top of the rotation going down and of course the game itself...and they did both!
Lakers PG Lonzo Ball went down early in what looked to be an ankle or foot injury and that didn't matter as the Lakers were never in this game and loses in a rout 117-85. The Denver Nuggets controlled this one from the onset and never really were threatened as they get all but one starter in double figures and the "Nugs" Bench dominated behind Denver 3rd year SF Malik Beasley (pictured bottom right).
Denver led 30-26 after one and 58-50 at the break as they slowly kept their foot on the gas and increased that lead to 18 at the end of three by the score 89-71. The Lakers and lead man Luke Walton just folded the old lawn chair after that and stuck it in the garage as it just comes own to saving some minutes from your starters. Denver runs away with an impressive 117-85 "W" and yes they have the Lakers number this season and is a serious threat to get into that Top 4 in the west.
Paul Milasp and Jamal Murray each had 20 points with Milsap hauling in eleven boards. The "Joker" Nikola Jokich added 14 points seven boards and waited on seven tables showing his all-around talent on every night and nearly every possession.
That Nuggets Bench scored 49 to the Lakers 27 led by the aforementioned Beasley leading the way with 20 points of his own. The Lakers were led by Kyle Kuzma's 21 points but shot just 5 for 35 from the slopes of Vail, Colorado and that spelled gloom and doom. King James and Brandon Ingram each added 14 as the Lakers fall to 11-9. Mile High Basketball moves to 14-7 as SG Gary Harris is day to day and Will Barton is due back in mid to late December.
