I told you in my game preview about the Duke Freshman and they didn't disappoint. R.J Barrett, Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson all helped the Blue Devils and Coach K turn Bankers Life Fieldhouse into Cameron Indoor as they hammer the Kentucky Wildcats 118-84 with that score looking like an average night in "Logo Watch"!

It was spectacular play after spectacular play as Duke jumped out to 20-8 lead in the early going and never looked back. Then skill level of thew Duke Big Three and of course Zion Williamson's athleticism is off the charts. Duke led 59-42 at the break and you would think UK would make some subtle adjustments to make it a game and they didn't and that tells me something about the 2018-19 Duke Men's Hoop Squad.

Going back to the first half Barrett (20 pts), Williamson (15 pts) and Reddish (10 pts) combined to score 45 of Duke's 59 in that first half outscoring UK by three. To add another 59 in the 2nd half told me the drive of this group. Barrett had a game-high 33 pts on 13 for 26 from the field with six helpers. Zion dropped in 28 points while Cam went for a somewhat quiet 22 points as they combined to shoot 7 for 16 from the arc.

Kentucky just couldn't find common ground in this one as both of their pre-season All-SEC selections in P.J. Washington (8 pts) and Stanford Grad transfer Reid Travis (22 pts 7 rebs) couldn't do anything early or late on that Duke front line. Travis did end up with 2 points as Freshman Keldon Johnson had a game-high 23 points. K.J. looked like the 4th best freshman in this game as he was highly-recruited out of Oak Hill VA Academy last season and was also a McDonald's All-American.

That 4 for 17 from deep for UK compared to Duke's 12 for 26 was a huge difference-maker along with UK committing 15 turnovers to the Blue Devils 4. The 'Cats were -24 points from the arc and -11 in turnovers...not good and I don't care who your playing.

Now both teams move onto their remaining schedules and will not meet again until possibly in the NCAA Tournament. Something tells me this could easily be one of the two semifinal games in the Twin Cities and with the results of this on you know UK will be coming after the Blue Devils.
