Look Mardi Gras 2k18 already took place in Nawlins' back in February 2k18...Facts! Well don't tell the 2k18 New Orleans Saints Squad as that Mardi Gras 2.0 broke out in the Big S600 V12 dba Merceds-Benz Superdome and there were fireworks and Beads or shall I say Wilson Pigskins thrown everywhere in this one.
Before the half it looked like the Saints were going to hang at least 60 on the Rams as Saints QB Drew Brees had the Madden Controller and was going in on that Rams "D"!. With the score 35-14 to their credit Los Angeles and their placekicker Greg Zuerlein booted a 56-yard FG right at the end of the 2nd frame cutting that lead to 35-17 and that was all the momentum the Rams needed to start the 3rd frame.
Out of nowhere the Rams came out firing in the 3rd putting up 10 points as that lead was now 35-27 Saints. The Rams "D" finally made some adjustments and slowed Brees and company down but forgot there was one frame left.
L.A. then tied everything up at 35-35 early in the 4th on a Jared Goff to Cooper Kupp 41-yard TD pass. That woke up the Saints enough to add a FG making it 38-35 then #WhoDat star WR Michael Thomas catches a Brees 72-yard TD pass with the game still undecided and that was the back breaker as N.O. went up 45-35 and Mardi Gras' 2.0 was headed to the streets of the Big Easy after that score.
Brees threw for 346 yards on 25 for 36 and 4 TDs. Thomas went off for 211 yards on a dozen grabs and a TD as all the Fantasy Players for NFL Week 9 that had #13 had to either make up ground or push their lead even further. Saints RB Alvin Kamara added 82 yards on the ground on 19 carries and two scores as #GoSaints heads to 7-1 on the season.
The Rams 391 yards on 28 for 40 from Goff as he looked spectacular and give him and L.A. lead man Sean McVay credit they hung in there and stuck to the game plan down 35-14 and made this a game knowing this will be tape for that January 2k19 match up.
Rams WR Brandin Cooks led L.A. with 114 receiving yards on six grabs while RB Todd Gurley added just 68 yards on 13 carries. In that next match up Gurley will be more of a factor as McVay and company will make a concerted effort to get him that Wilson pigskin a lot.
Rams lose for the first time this season falling to 8-1. Both teams know this is the midway point with a lot football left and its for home field advantage for the Rams. Saints can't concentrate on home field as all of a sudden here comes the rugged NFC South with the 6-2 Panthers and 4-4 Falcons.
