Here comes the Redbirds giving the Kansas City Royals some of the stuff thy have been giving to foes on the Junior Circuit. One would have thought with Lance Lynn a scratch on the D.L. and St. Louis recalling Rook LHP Tyler Lyons from Memphis the Royals would paint this Saturday Canvas all Royal Blue....I think not!

Lyons goes five strong as he gives up the Long Ball x 2 to both Alex Gordon in the 2nd and Royals back stop Salvador Perez in the 4th. Those two runs accounted for two of the three Royals hits on Lyons as the Cards Pen would stop the bleeding!

Meanwhile Kansas City Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie looked like what most thought Lyons would look like. "JGut" gave up three runs on the day including the first two runs on RBI singles by both Matt Carpenter and Jason Heyward. Then in the 5th  Mark "All or Nothing" Reynolds takes him deep to the seats for a solo blast and a Redbirds 3-2 lead.

That 3-2 lead would hold up as Redbirds Captain Save-A-Game Trevor Rosenthal notches his 21st save of 2K15. St. Louis also moves out to an impressive MLB best 41-21 on pace to go 102-58...yes and that would be all "Matheny Ball" with all those injuries to key cogs!

K.C. falls to 34-25 as they try an avoid the three-piece sweep on Sunday as we get Chris Young (5-2, 2.25 ERA) for K.C. vs the savvy vet John Lackey (4-4, 3.74 ERA) for the 'Lou!
