The deal is being reported as $100 million plus and just north of $50 million guaranteed through the next 60 months. Now Cam is on the back end of his current deal that will pay him a base salary of $14.666 million as the new deal would not kick in until the 2016 season.
Now don't act all brand new because Cam just got "Paid in Full" as others before him have also cashed in and done absolutely nothing so why can't Cam get his Wagon full of duffel bags! Let's take a closer look at Newton's Career Digits as he has yet to pass that amazing rookie campaign setting the bar too high for himself talking yards only.
@CameronNewton Career Digits from 2011-14
2011 (Rookie Season)
16 gms 4,051 yds 21 TD 17 INT 85.4 QBR
2012
16 gms 3,869 yds 19 TD 12 INT 86.2 QBR
2013
16 gms 3,379 yds 24 TD 13 INT 88.8 QBR
2014
14 gms 3,127 18 TD 12 INT 82.1 QBR
Looking at it closer Cam's best season might have been in 2013 as he was +11 in TDs over INTs. Yes his years his rookie campaign were through the roof talking yards but his play for some odd reason has been on not a decline but it could get a lot better.
A solid run game if his running backs can stay healthy and some new talent on the outside might help. Can Cam not all by his lonesome get enough help on the offense to get Carolina into the elite and the big game in 2015?
