Born and raised in the state of North Carolina and a UNC Tar Heels Alum DE/OLB and certified and verified Red Jersey Collector at Bluedude Sportstalk Julius Peppers is hanging up the football cleats. The former #2 Pick overall in round 1 the 2002 NFL Draft will leave where it all started in the Tar Heel State playing for his home state Carolina Panthers.

A dominant players coming out of High School and every ones All-American Peppers was not only "Big" on the football field but bigger in track and basketball. Current UNC Tar Heels Coach Mack Brown recruited Peppers and the rest was history as he dominated at UNC for Football and two years in Basketball.

That Basketball time for Peppers was with fellow #1 Tar Heels Recruit in Basketball and Football Ronald Curry from Hampton, Virginia. Both Curry and Peppers played hoop under then UNC Hoops Coach Matt Doherty for two years then forgoing playing their Junior seasons due to both concentrating on football.

That 2002 NFL Draft where Peppers a #2 he was sandwiched in between #1 overall pick Fresno State David Carr and and #3 overall pick Joey Harrington from Oregon. Peppers played 2002-2009 with Carolina where he did most of his damage then had excellent stints with both Chicago Bears (2010-2013) and Green Bay Packers (2014-2016) and returned back home with the Panthers 2017-2018.
