It happened rather quickly after Free Agent OF Bryce Harper and the San Francisco Giants met twice in the last week. Was that for leverage for Harper as both Manny Machado and Nolan Arenado get their deals and now here comes Bryce Harper with his bag...
Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies reportedly agree on a whopping $330 million deal over 156 months to play home games in the City of Brotherly Love and for B-Harp that is "Love" 215 as Philly Hardball was in the running from the onset.
Now looking at it even closer unlike the Machado Deal this puts the Phightin' Phils at the top of the NL East as most had Philly among the top before the deal. B-Harps' former team the Washington Nationals lost #34 but he stays in the NL East and that is bad news not only for the Nats but the defending NL East Champion Atlanta Braves.
Now the extra years on this deal leaves some room for a guy that grew up near Philly dba the Millville NJ Meteor and that would be one Mike Trout. It will be really hard if the Halos have not built around Trout to keep him playing on the Junior Circuit as that Love 215 is all over Mr. Trout.
