Jason Hammel of the Chicago Cubs stops another Cubbies losing streak and now the North Siders are in position to take 3 of 4 from the Nats in Nats Park. The Day though didn't start out looking like Hammel would get the "W" as Washington played "Long Ball" for the first run of the game.
Nats back stop Wilson Ramos took Hammel deep in the 2nd for a Nats 1-0 lead. The Cubbies Kris Bryant would get his 35th RBI on a single scoring Dexter Fowler in the 4th tying the game up at 1-1. Fowelr in the 5th would then single home Jonathan Herrera and Anthony Rizzo would score Fowler on a two-bagger for a Cubs 3-1 lead.
For some much-needed insurance Herrera would add an RBI Single in the 9th scoring Miguel Montero as the Nats would score one in the bottom half of the 9th on a "Bam 34" Round-Tripper and that would be Bryce Harper who the North Siders have kept relatively quiet through three games.
Hammel would go eight strong allowing just two runs on five hits as he was in there in the 9th to go complete game but Harper sent him watching the rest of the 9th from the dugout. Cubs Captain Save-A-Game Pedro Strop gets his 2nd save of 2K15.
Nats starter Joe Ross takes the loss going five allowing three runs on six hits. The Cubbies move to 29-25 and the Nats fall to 30-26...
