The Pittsburgh Pirates have won five in a row and they took care of the sweep by not a solid performance by Rook Gerrit Cole but the Pirates still win. Behind Pirates Back Stop Russell Martin's pinch-hit single in the bottom of the 10th the Buccos beat the Marlins 5-4.

Th Marlins jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four and a half and they put up two in the bottom half of the 5th and two more in the bottom half of the seventh to get it to extra innings. The Pirates RHP Cole allowed four runs on six hits in five innings of work allowing also a two-run shot by Marlins OF Chris Yelich. Yelich led the charge for the Fish going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two ribbies.

The Marlins Starter Jose Fernandez went five innings allowing just two runs as he was on the hook for the win until the Fish Bullpen blew it up. Buccos CF Starling Marte (2 for 4 w/2 runs) and second baseman Neil Walker (3 for 3 w/ 2 RBIs) led the Pirates Offense.

The Buccos now lead the NL Central by 3.5 games over the Redbirds in the NL Central. The Buccos have all the makings of running the table and getting the NL Central Division Title. I could see it now R&B Group "Sister Sledge" singing their hit single "We are Family" as the Buccos take the 'Burgh and the "Fight for October" by Storm. Move over "Men of Steel" and "Happy Feet on Ice"....the Pens the Pirates have arrived in full force.
