Behind a Gem by Tiger Ace Justin Verlander  the Detroit Tigers roll through the Blue Birds 11-1. Tigers Center Fielder Austin Jackson had a day going 4 for 5 with 4 runs scored, three runs knocked in, and a two-run bomb to boot. Back to Verlander as he went seven innings allowing no runs on three hits and five strikeouts. Tigers Miggy Cabrera replacement Don Kelly went 3 for 4 scoring three runs. The Tigers move up 1 1/2 games in the AL Central on the 2nd place Tribe. The Blue Birds fall to eleven back of the 1st place Carmines and that is not good!

The New York Yankees  sweep the four game set from the Minnesota Twins as they outscore the Twinkies in the four game set 29-14 and it was pure dominance by the Yanks. The Yanks get the sweep in game four of the series behind Ichiro Suzuki's 3 for 5 two ruins scored and two runs knocked in. Bronx Bombers Right Fielder Vernon Wells also goes 3 for 5 with three runs knocked in and a run scored. The Twins in turn are struggling and they fall some 9 games back of the AL Central leader the Detroit Tigers.

The Chicago White Sox have not had too many bright spots in 2013 and get a Walk-Off from DH Adam Dunn in the bottom of the ninth to avoid the sweep from the Baltimore Orioles. The Sox needed this as they are in the basement of the AL Central back some eleven games of the 1st place Detroit Tigers. The O's in the loss move 4 1/2 games back of the Carmines in the AL East.
