The Lakers might have themselves something if the NBA had a B-Team or Junior Varsity and the D-League is that in a nutshell. The Lakers Summer League Squad has played rather well and they beat the rival Clips 77-65 behind solid back court and front court play. Marcus Landry led the Lakers with 16 points and guards C.D.R. and Lester Hudson combine for 25 points, eleven boards, and eight assists. The Clips were led by 2013 1st rounder Reggie Bullock as he had 12 points but just two of eight from downtown.
Phoenix Suns are 2-0 as they beat the T'Wolves 91-89 and are getting maximum production from that Twin 2-Pack from Philly by way of Mass Street in Lawrence, Kansas. The Twins strike Vegas Summer League again with a combined 40 points and ten rebounds. 2012 Suns 1st Rounder PG Kendall "Sneaker Fiend" Marshall continues his good play with 13 points as 'Cuse PF Dion Christmas added 16 points off the bench. The T'Wolves were led by Purdue Boilermaker and Wolves 2013 2nd Rounder Robbie Hummel's 18 points and seven boards.
The Pelicans up end the Cavs 66-62 and the Cavs land four of five starters in double-figures led by 14 points and ten boards from former Dukie PF Lance Thomas. Austin Rivers netted 13 and both Brian Roberts and Darius Miller added eleven. The Cavs were paced by 16 points from Dion Waiters and a monster outing from Tyler Zeller with 15 points and twelve boards. Both Teams are 2-1 in the standings.
