The Tourney's Top Stunners are a mix of 1st rounders, 2nd rounders, and an undrafted players who carried his team to the Chip. For the 2nd rounder and undrafted player they most likely secured employment from the Logo for 2013-14 and if that wasn't good enough playing in the Top level leagues across the Big Pond will be on the menu.
2013 Logo All-Tourney 702
C Jonas Valanciunas (pictured left) aka the Lithuanian T-REX #Raptors #Dinosaurs 18.8 ppg 10 rebs the "702 Tourney M.V.P."...yes and former GM Bryan Colangelo got this one right and he is 22 next May and that is scary. He reminds me of fellow Lithuanian and Cavs Star "Big Z" Zydrunas Ilgauskas but more fluid and bit more athletic. Now its up to New Dinosaurs GM Masai Ujiri to put those Athletes and Shooters around their "T-Rex" and space the floor as "D2" DeMar DeRozan and "Rudy the Raptor" is a huge head start. G Kent Bazemore aka Dubs PEP Rally #DUBnation....he averaged 18.5 ppg 4.7 rebs 3.4 helpers and he carried at times the Team from Planet Oracle. He was determined to make it hard for the Warriors not to sign him for the 2013-14 season as fellow back court mate Ian Clark also show and proved. Logo Heads when the Dubs are playing "Baze" is the one jumping off the Bench in Reinforcements Attire (Warm-Up) leading the Planet Oracle Pep Rally....oh! and he can play a little bit.
SF Jeffrey Taylor aka J.T. #mikeCATS soon to be "Hive Drive Hornets" he averaged 20.3 ppg (3rd in 702 Tourney)....the Bluedude had him as the more NBA-Ready of the "Vandy Triplets" including 1st rounders John Jenkins (Atlanta Hawks) and Festus Ezeli (G.S.W.). Taylor is even further along than teammate Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as he defends, can shoot it from deep, a hidden Elevator Taker, and he has a nice Mid-Game. He slipped to early 2nd round in 2012 and they are some teams that simply missed as he is like the Bulls See Red Butler...Jimmy. mikeCATS Gm Rich Cho has had two back to back excellent drafts and Baby Zeller is a keeper with Big AL Jefferson joining the fray in the 2013-14 season.
PF John Henson aka the "Plastic Man of Beer Town USA" #FearTheDEER...he averaged 14.7 ppg 13.7 rebs 3 Blocks and he dominated the paint and the man's Length is ridiculous. He had a 9'6" standing reach at the 2012 NBA Combine for those of you who don't get down like the Bluedude and that is 4" from touching the cylinder standing flat footed....Yikes! I remember J.H. as a freshman at UNC as he just couldn't handle the contact and like most don't they develop at UNC and he transformed himself into a monster. Checkout on YouTube Henson at the NC Pro Am...a Man amongst boys. Remember the Bucks also have Colonel Larry Sanders manning the paint as well.
PF/C Cody Zeller aka Baby Zeller #mikeCATS in 2014-15 the Buzzzzzzzzzzz will be back... he averaged 16.3 ppg and 9.3 rebs as he displayed toughness around the rim and willingness to play his back to the Basket but if he wants to be more perimeter oriented like his Agent was reportedly telling Teams he more Dirk than anything he needs to get his handle down. Sneaky Athletic Baby Zeller is and that should help is limited length for a almost 7-footer who has arms like he is 6'6". About time the mikeCATS hit the Phone Booth in the 2-14-15 with those Teal Blue Pinstripe Jerseys (and Air Jordan bring back the Original Duds that Rex Chapman, Kelly Tripucka, Grand Ma Ma. 'Zo, Kendal, Dell Curry, and Mugsy wore) the Hornets will be stinging folks and big ups Rich Cho!
