The Pittsburgh Pirates go into Marlins Park and find a way to get five hits, score no runs, and leave ten ducks on the pond as the Marlins beat the Pirates 2-0. The Marlins RHP Henderson Alvarez went six innings allowing two hits a walk and striking out five Pirates. Pirates All-Star Jeff Locke pitched well with obviously no run support. Locke 6 2/3 giving up the two runs on eight hits and he struck out nine Marlins. The Only mistake Locke made was to Marlins "Big Sun Fish" in OF Giancarlo Stanton ho took Locke deep in the 7th for only his 12th of 2013. Locke also walked six Marlins Hitters and after awhile one if not two to three of those free passes will cross the dish sooner rather than later.

The Pirates didn't get anyone with a multi-hit game and they struck out a combined eleven times compared to only generating one free pass.  The Buccos with the loss stay two behind the Redbirds as they lost in the Tomahawk Shop 404 to the Braves tonight. The Fish some 24 games under the .500 mark and eighteen games back in the NL East will be playing spoilers for the rest of 2013.

The Atlanta Braves show people they belong in the Convo for Power Teams in the NL as they serve up the Redbirds 4-1 behind LHP Mike Minor. Minor went seven and gave up one run on four hits and struck out five Redbirds. Meanwhile the Braves Offense woke up as OF Jason Heyward goes Yard in the 8th to add insurance. The Braves touched up All-Star and Redbirds Ace Adam Wainright for four runs in seven innings as he did strikeout eight Braves. The Cards only run came off the bat of Back Stop Yadier Molina as he went Solo Shot in the top half of the 2nd off Minor. Braves All-Star Cl;sower Craig Kimbrel gets save #29 in the win.
