The Chicago Sky continue to play at the level of Champions as they dispose of the Connecticut Sun 83-70. Sky Rook Elena Delle Donne wanted to play well in her return for a myriad of reasons.
Behind 23 points and five rebounds from Rook Star Elena Delle Donne and 19 pints and eight rebounds from former UConn Star Swin Cash the Sky beat the Sun pretty handily. The Game was won in the first frame as the Sky jumped out to 28-15 lead. Both teams after that played even as the Suns couldn't never really get it going. The Sky also get 13 points and eight boards from Sylvia Fowles and eleven points from Epiphany Prince.
The Sun get 29 points and six rebounds from former UConn Star Tina Charles as she had limited help in the Sky Onslaught. The Sun with the loss fall to 3-9 while the Sky move to 10-4. Back to Delle Donne's Story she had committed to play for UConn out of High School and lasted all but one day on campus and left and went back home. Later she enrolled at the University of Delaware as in High School she was the #1 Recruit Nationally. There is a lot more to the story but you will hear it sooner or later as Delle Donne was a 2008 Lady McDonald's All-American aka Big Mac and National Player of the Year.
Next up for the Sky Thursday July 18, 2013 at NYC to take on then LIBERTY....
