The Chicago Blackhawks in dyer straights to get a point at least came out fighting on Tuesday vs the Visiting Florida Panthers. The Indian Head struggling in their current home stand as they have had all kinds of issues on ""D and in and around the blue-paint!

Enter Chicago-Area native Scott Darling as he gets the nod and he was fabulous for 50 minutes then the wheels came off. Before that though the Hawks get goals from "Captain Serious" Jonathan Toews his 18th in the 1st for a 1-0 Hawks lead.

Then in the 2nd it was Kris Versteeg "Lighting the Lamp" for his 13th on the season. With the Hawks up 2-0 spotting a Darling a 2-0 lead things looked really good. Then in the 3rd with Hawks Nation thinking we must finish and they didn't.

The Panthers Jussi Jokinen makes it 2-1 Hawks with just over 9 minute remaining. Then Darling after he gathered himself let's another one by for a 2-2 tie as Panthers Vincent Trochek scored with just under four minutes remaining.

The extra period yielded nothing and Darling came up huge in the shootout. Both Toews and Sharp scored with Darling stopping both Trocjek and Nick Bjugstad for a Hawks Shoot Out "W" and at this juncture in time we will take that and Panthers go stand outside in those jerseys for an hour...it's Florida Weather at the Madhouse!

Darling in place of "Craw-Dad" Corey Crawford with a night off stopped 34 of 36 SOG. Panthers blue-paint tenant and familiar face Roberto Luongo the Love of Canucks Nation stopped 36 of 38 SOg but could not stop #19 or #10 when it counted in the shootout!

Hawks will get a Sunshine State "Back to Back" Motel Swing this Thursday as they get these same Panthers and Friday will get the rugged Bolts of Tampa led by Steven Stamkos and Tyler Johnson. The Indian Head moves to 36-20-5 with 77 points a bakers dozen behind the Central leading "Preds"...

Note: the "Bison City Blur" Hawks Winger Patrick Kane left this game after taking a cross-check as he is the one player the Hawks could ill afford to lose hang in their #88!
