The Chicago Blackhawks let the Minnesota Wild muster up some 43 SOG as Hawks Net Minder Corey "Craw-Dad" Crawford stopped 40 of 43. It just appeared all night long the Indian Head was back tracking in their own zone with little or no offensive push.
Wild Net Minder Devan Dubnyk shuts down the Hawks offense as Chicago only could get 24 on net. To make matters worse the game was over before the first period as the Wild scored twice in the 1st frame. It was Mikko Koivu "Lighting the Lamp" seven minutes in with Jason Zucker getting Wild goal #2 not even three minutes later. Wild Center Mikael Granlund made it 3-0 as he beats Crawford with just under six minutes remaining in the 2nd.
Hawks were 0-2 on the Power Play as the Wild was 0-3 on the PP. That 24 SOG 2nd frame blitz the Wild put on the Hawks wore them down as Craw-Dad stopped 31 of 32 SOG from the 2nd through the 3rd. Look if the Hawks can score it doesn't mater who is net right!
The Indian Head has more issues than losing to the Wild as the Preds lead them by 8 points and the Blue Notes lead them by six points. The Wild trying to make a second half push is ten points in back of the Hawks with plenty of time.
The Indian Head visits Winnipeg Friday February 6 as the new Jets have 60 points just four back of the Hawks after losing to the Flames 5-2 tonight.
