The 2014-15 Wisconsin Badgers will win the regular season Big 10 Title no doubt. They ran into a buzz saw in the 1st half in the Xfinity Center and it wasn't the Badgers Cable Bills we are talking about.
It was the Fighting Turtles hot shooting in the 1st half coupled with the Wisconsin missing shots they normally make all wrapped into a career-night from former X-Man of Ohio (Xavier Ohio Musketeer) and now Terps' SG Dez Wells.
Wells could not be stopped as the Badgers even put their best on the Orange defender on him and a high-school head coaches son in Sam Dekker and he could do nothing. Wells lit U-Dub Madison up for a game-high 26 points on 9 for 17 and grabbing seven boards. Terps' PG Melo Trimble controlled the all important "Pace" of the game at the point with a smooth and efficient 16 points and four boards.
As the Badgers were down at the break 31-20 and making a run in the 2nd half it was Wells that appeared to stop every Badger run. 2015 NBA Lottery Pick Frank "the Tank" Kaminsky led the Badgers with 18 points and grabbing eight boards with "Badgers and Dekker" adding 14 points and eight boards.
The Terps' held the Badgers back court of Josh Gasser and Bronson Koenig to a combined 3 for 17 (3-11 3pt fg) and that was a huge difference in the ball game. After two Nigel Hayes made free throws right after the above three minute T.V. Timeout the Fighting Turtles closed out on a 9-3 run as Wisconsin was 1 for 5 in that span.
Maryland moves to 23-5 and 11-4 in the Big 10 while Wisconsin falls to 13-2 in the Big 10 and 25-3 overall...
