The Chicago Blackhawks put together 60 string as they go into the Scottrade Center in the Lou' and gets a hard fought 3-2 "W" as Craw-Dad in the blue paint was awesome. The Hawks 3rd in the NHL Central needs to start putting some points up and beating the Jets in Friday and the Blues today is a nice start hopefully.
The Hawks Marcus Kruger got things started scoring the only goal in the 1st frame making it 1-0 Blackhawks. In the 2nd frame it was the Blues best in Russian Vladimir Tarasenko "lighting the lamp" and tying the game at 1-1. The Blues at the end of the 1st and into the 2nd starting forcing their style on the Indian Head but the Hawks responded.
Just over the midway point in the 2nd it was Bryan Bickell getting his 10th on the season making it 2-1 Hawks as the Blues get careless in their own end. Not even two minutes after that it was Blues Captain Davis Backes with a wrister tying the game up at 2-2 ending the scoring in the 2nd frame.
With the game tied in the 3rd and both teams looking to strike first as the next goal might win the game it was Hawks Marian Hossa striking making it 3-2 Hawks. The score would hold up until Hossa gets an (EN) Empty Netter with just thirteen seconds to go for a final score of 4-2 Indian Head.
Corey Crawford was solid stopping 25 of 27 SOG as the Hawks were 1 for 2 with the extra man. Blues blue paint tenant Brian Elliott stopped 24 of 27 SOG as the 4th goal was the empty netter.
The Indian Head moves to 33-18-2 with 68 points as the Blue Notes have in 2nd place with 72 and the Preds leading the Central with 74 in action as we go to press vs the Florida Panthers.
