The Chicago Bulls took it easy on the New Orleans Pelicans in the first half only leading 48-39 setting up what would be the Bulls best half of the 2014-15 season. The Bulls then went on a 59-33 run to close out the Pelicans and the game moving to 31-20 on the season.
Yes D-Rose (20 pts 8-15 FG) and the "Spaniard" Pau Pau Pau (20 pts 15 rebs 4 asst) led the way with former New Mexico Lobos Star Tony Snell adding 19 big ones. Snell was 5 for 6 from Baton Rouge and he finally looked that player that tore up the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League without playing the ones. Bulls just miss the magic numbers of 50-50-80 shooting under 50% from deep.
The Pelicans lost but the loss could be even more costly as Anthony Davis went down with an apparent shoulder injury trying to catch a lob. That play took the air out of the Big Smoothie King Center and the wind out of the Pelicans Nest 504 sail. Davis left in the 2nd frame with 8 points and five boards as Tyreke Evans led the N.O.P. with 15. Pelicans fall to 27-24 as they are right there with the #9 seed in the west as we go to press.
Bulls trying to finish up strong as they get the Orlando Magic on the 2nd leg of a back to back Motel Swing on Sunday. Then they entertain the Kings of Sac Town and King James and the Cavs Thursday right before the start of the All-Star Break.
