The St. Louis Cardinals are trying to put a little distance between them and the Buccos and Red Legs ion the NL Central. Cards Ace Adam Wainright gets win #12 in 2013 with a typical "Wainright Night" performance. He allowed on run on five hits and struck out nine 'Stros Players in seven innings of work. His counterpart for the 'Stros RHP Bud Norris went five innings allowing eleven hits in five innings and the Redbirds touched the dish seven times on Norris' Watch. Cards LF Matt Holliday started the Festivities with a 2-run bomb in the bottom of the first. Redbirds All-Stars second baseman Matt Carpenter (3 for 4 w/ 3 runs 3 RBI) and first baseman Allen Craig (3 for 5 w/ 2 RBI) were on their game at the  dish.

Dodgers didn't need the Trading Deadline as they go get RHP Ricky Nolasco from the Fighting Fish and he was all that in his Dodgers Debut. The Dodgers beat the D-Backs 6-1 and Nolasco did his part on the Bump and with Ash at the dish. Seven innings of work allowing one run on four hits and striking out five. Nolasco was also 2 for 2 handling his Ash Bat with an RBI and a run scored. A-Gon did the damage for the Dodgers with three ribbies. Yes D-Backs Starter Ian Kennedy as chased after 5 2/3 but Arizona didn't hit anything either as it goes both ways in the Clubhouse. The "Boys in Blue" are just 2 1/2 games back of the D-Backs in the West.

Cole Hamels couldn't have picked a better time to throw a gem and threw Nats were on the front end of that. The Phils won 4-2 as Cole went eight innings allowing six hits and one duck to cross the dish. The Phils get RBI's from Utility Infielder Michael Young and OF Domonic Brown and that was more than enough for Hamels. Nats OF Jayson Werth went Solo Shot on Hamels early but that was it for the Nats. Al of a sudden the Phils are just 1 1/2 games back of the Nats but still 7 1/2 back of the NL East leading Braves.
