The Chicago Cubs have been playing better Hardball of late and they take it to the NL Central leading Pirates winning two of three. Today they had everything wrapped up until Cubs Closer Gregg gave up a 2-out 2-strike Bomb to Pirates young Star Starling Marte. The Cubs did comeback in the 11th to get the "W" 4-3 and move to a respectable 38-48 and they have beens lowing playing around that .550 mark the last week and a half. The Pirates lose ground in the Central and now find themselves tied with the Redbirds at 53-34.

Dodgers All-Star LHP Clayton Kershaw took the stitched one today versus the Gigantes and went to work like only Clayton knows how.  The Dodgers win 4-1 as Kershaw goes eight strong allowing one run on three hits and striking out three. The day belonged to Dodgers Back Stop A.J. Ellis as he gets a bases-clearing double with the ducks loaded on the pond to give the Dodgers 4 runs and the win. Giants Pitcher Chad Gaudin was magnificent as well going seven innings allowing only one run on four hits and striking out nine Dodgers. With the Win the "Boys in Blue" take 2nd place all by themselves and trail the D-Backs for the NL West lead by 4 1/2 games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks keep, their 4 1/2 game lead in the NL West by sweeping the Rockies and beating them Sunday 6-1. D-Backs Patrick Corbin finally gets his 10th win as he goes eight innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out ten Rockies. The top of the D-Backs Order from 1-4  was a combined 8 for 15 with four runs scored and four ribbies. Rocks All-Star RF Carlos "Car-Go" Gonzalez reportedly hurt in index finger and is ruled day-to-day.
