The Boston Red Sox have been the favorite for quite some time and they didn't disappoint as they move onto the ALCS with a 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays unfortunately have only themselves to blame walking eight Red Sox Hitters. In turn the Red Sox Pitchers walked no one and struck out ten Rays Hitters. Rays Pitchers walked eight and Carmines Shortstop Xander Bogaerts walked twice in the late innings and came around to score two of the three runs as it was the "Law of Averages" by then for both the Sox and Rays.

Both Teams get six hits and the deciding factor was obviously walks as the Red Sox did leave 19 ducks on the pond but get enough to close out the Rays. Carmines Starter Jake Peavy was masterful as he went 5 2/3 innings allowing five hits and just one run while striking out three. Peav stayed away from Walks (0) and the Big Fly (0) and that alone kept the Carmines close enough for the Rays to implode.

The Rays used nine pitchers as Rays Skipper Joe Maddon In-Game Tactics was working all the way to the late innings. Rays Captain Save-A-Game Fernando Rodney didn't have anything for the Rays as his control was lost in Tampa. Rays Shortstop Yunel Escobar was the only player in the game that went multi-hit as he was 3 for 3 with the Rays only run scored.

Sox now await the winner of the Oakland/Detroit Series that will conclude on Thursday from the Black Hole near Planet Oracle in East Bay.
