The Starting Pitching was suppose to be the Redbirds strong suit as the Red Sox hammer Ace Adam Wainright in Game 1. Now it's just Game 1 but clearly the Sox Hitters had a Game Plan and that was sit on that "Express" and sit on the "Local" until you get one of those "Get me over Deuces" then it's hammer time and hurt it!
The Carmines get a 8-1 win and Ace Jon Lester was more than Boston Strong. "Les was More" as he went 7 2/3 innings allowing five hits striking out eight issuing one free pass. He was spot on as that only Duck to cross the dish for the Redbirds was Matt Holliday's Solo Blast off Sox Starter turned Reliever Ryan Dempster. The Redbirds have to take advantage of their edge in Starting Pitching and if they don't...no Parade Route.
Adam Wainright was less than stellar as he gets in trouble in Inning One and to the Carmines credit they didn't let him off the hook. A crooked Three in the 1st frame and a crooked two in the 2nd frame spelled gloom and doom for the "Waino" as he went to a "Special Place"...the Visiting Clubhouse Showers but it's one loss. This loss also tells me #50 from Baseball Town USA Hardball will get a chance to be part of the Redeem Team later in the series.
Big Papi put on an Aerial Show only like the "Dominican Daddy" can. He just missed another "Granny" in the 2nd Inning and took Cards Reliever Kevin Siegrist for a two-run Bomb in the 7th to roll the credits on the Redbirds. Papi ended his night 2 for 3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Carmines Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia also had two hits with an RBI an scored twice.
