The St. Louis Cardinals did it the hard way but the right way as they take four out of six from the "Boys in Blue" and head to the 2k13 Fall Classic versus either the Carmines or Tigers. The Redbirds not only blew the doors off of Game 6 but they get to Dodgers Ace Clayton Kershaw like no one in the Show can. The Redbirds win going away 9-0 and I wonder what is on Tap in the Redbirds Locker Room other than Sham-Pag-Na...Hmmmmm!
The Redbirds chased the Dodgers Ace after four innings of giving up seven run on ten hits with two free passes and five strikeouts. The Dodgers only managed to get two hits as through when Kershaw was done...they were done as well. Redbirds Young Star Michael Wacha had some coming out party as the whole world knows the Texarkana, Texas Native. Wacha went seven allowing two hits and no runs striking out five Dodgers and walking one. He has some nasty stuff to go along with that Express that was upwards of 95-96 mph. Wainright is the Ace but Wacha along with Joe Kelly and Lance Lynn is a nice Four Set in the Rotation looking ahead for 2014 as there is more Redbirds Business to attend to before a possible Parade Route.
That Redbirds Offense was cranked up and once they were going against Kershaw they didn't let up. The Cards pounded out thirteen hits and nine runs. The New "Mr. October" at least by the numbers Carlos Beltran led the hit parade going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and and a run scored.
Now the Redbirds await the winner of the ALCS between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox. Remember the Junior Circuit...the American League has Home Field Advantage from winning the 2k13 Mid-Summers Classic at Citi Field.
Congrats to both Redbirds Nation and Dodgers Nation for a Top-Notch NLCS 2k13!
