I said in the Game Preview and its not hard which ever pitcher will get jumped on first that Team will lose. The Detroit Tigers made a Vet "Monster on the Bump" in Carmines RHP Jake Peavy pay for his inability to not throw strikes and the Tigers beat the Bo Sox 7-3.
Peavy (3 IP 5 H 7 R 3 BB 1 SO) picked the wrong time to walk folks and be wild in the strike zone as the Tigers put a crooked 5 up in bigger than October Hardball 2nd inning and cruised from there. Whose not getting credit for holding things down for the Tigers is Tiger Starter Doug Fister. Fister went six and allowed just one run on eight hits as he struck out seven Carmines Hitters and issued just one free pass.
The Tigers and Skip Jimmy Leyland had to be thrilled to see both Miggy Cabrera and Austin Jackson get two hits apiece and drive in Two each. They have both struggled as has Prince Fielder as Prince continues to struggle going 0-4. Carmines CF Jacoby Ellsbury led the Sox with four hits going 4 for 5 and scoring a Run and an RBI.
Now we head to a Game 5 that will be played on Thursday Afternoon October 17th as we should get the Game 1 match up with Anibal Sanchez for the Tigers going up against Jon Lester of the Sox.
The ALCS is now tied up at 2-2 as its the best two out of three with two games being played if necessary at Fenway.
