The San Francisco Giants have new life fresh off their four-game series sweep of the Nats at McCovey Cove. As we go to press they are just 2.5 games back of the NL West leading Dodgers. More importantly just 3.5 games back of the #2 NL Wild Card Slot held by the North Siders from the "Friendly Confines"!
The Redbirds coming in this series with the #1 W-L of 2K15 at a 75-42 clip is five games ahead of the 2nd place Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central and 7.5 games up on the 3rd place Cubbies. "Matheny Ball" has been better than good as they have lost key cogs in that machine and keeps it moving by any means necessary. In this series which teams does the Pirates, Cubs, and Dodgers root for...or does it matter?
Heston has been solid but he will face Wacha who along with Carlos Martinez is among the Redbirds best starters. No "Mad Bum" or Martinez in this one and that is good for the hitters!
The Gigantes "Brandon Boys" talking Crawford and Belt along with Posey has carried the San Fran Offense. The Redbirds Carpenter and Wong and Peralta are the big three for the St. Louis as we head down the stretch!
