Atlanta Braves starter Shelby "GT" Miller was roughed up in the middle to ladder frames as Cubbies starter Kyle Hendricks didn't fare too well himself. It was the North Siders hitting that did in Braves Country this time as the Cubbies Pen nailed down the "W"!
Both Atlanta and Chicago scored in the 1st frame as it was 1-1 at the end of one. The Braves then jumped on Hendricks in the 4th scoring two on a Nick Markakis two-bagger. With the score 3-1 the North Siders finally get to Miller as they put one in the 5th and a crooked two up in the 6th highlighted by Kris Bryant and Miguel Montero RBI doubles making it 4-3 Cubbies after six. They would add one moire as Anthony Rizzo RBI single of the Braves Pen was the last straw as the Cubbies win 5-3.
Chicago's Pen throws four scoreless frames allowing just one run and that is a welcome sign moving forward. Jason Motte gets the "W" and Maddon Ball's Captain Save-A-Game Hector Rondon grabs save #22 as the Cubbies move to 69-51. Atlanta's Woes continue as they fall to 53-69...
