The Chicago Cubs came into Sunday's Match Up against the visiting Atlanta Braves looking for a four-piece sweep. Well if it looks like a sweep and smells like a sweep well it will be a sweep. Cubbies starter Jason Hammel combined with a an Offense that put up crooked numbers in two of the first four frames smashes Braves Country 9-3 moving to a 71-51 in 2015.
Hammel goes six and some change allowing two runs on six hits as he struck out eight and gave away just one free pass. That Cubbies Offense was all over the Chop Shop 404 as a Dexter Fowler lead-off bomb coupled with a Kris Bryant two-run bomb got things flowing from the Offense to the Suds and everything in between. Chicago would score six more times highlighted by another Bryant Home Run a solo blast and a Miguel Montero two-run Big Fly.
Hammel moves to 7-5 as Braves Country starter Matt Wisler lasted 2 2/3 frames allowing seven runs on six hits. He also had four shots put on his tab and not the ones related to "Last Call" at your favorite water hole. Atlanta falls to 53-71 as they get swept all four games.
"Maddon Ball" now gets one game with the "Tribe" at Wrigley on Monday before heading west to take on the NL WEst Elite in the Gigantes and Dodgers...
