There was two stories at the "Cell" on Sunday for the Matinee between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. Sox Ace and LHP Chris Sale was back to his dominating self and the "North Siders" do not get the sweep on the South Side.
Sale goes seven strong throwing a one-hitter and he walked just two hitters and struck out 15 Cubbies. His "Stuff" had "Stuff" today and the his counterpart Dan Haren (looking not even close to a shell of himself) takes the "L" going 4 2/3 frames allowing three runs on seven hits. Haren three runs allowed via the "Big Fly" as Jose Abreu, Melky Cabrera, and Alexei Ramirez took him yard in the consecutive frames in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Abreu, Cabrera, and Carlos Sanchez all collected two hits as the Sox move to 55-60. The Cubs 9-game win streak is over as they fall to 67-49 which is still some eight games back of the NL Central leading Redbirds.
Looking at the NL Central the past week the Cubbies only make a game as they go 9-1 in the last 10 and both the Cards and Buccos go 8-2...and that is running right through the show!
