Pittsburgh Pirates starter Charlie Morton stretched out four hits over almost seven frames as he handled the San Francisco Giants Hitters with relative ease. Giants vet RHP Jake Peavy battled as he is nowhere near what he use to be and you have to question why the Gigantes didn't go get another arm at the MLB Trade Deadline as he takes the loss.
The Pirates needed two RBI doubles in the 1st and 3rd to go up 2-0 and a Neil Walker two-run bomb in the 6th to call it a night and roll the credits on the defending world champions. Peavy falling to 3-6 in 2015 was charged with all four runs as the Buccos are still right behind the Redbirds at a 72-47 clip. The Gigantes just need at this point to stay close to the NL West leading L.A. Dodgers and with plenty of head to head match ups still to come do damage in those games.
